Welcome to Automotive Repair Hub. By accessing or using this website, you agree to these terms. If you do not agree, please do not use the site.

About This Site

Automotive Repair Hub covers the tools a home mechanic actually reaches for: OBD2 code scanners, torque wrenches, socket and mechanics tool sets, floor jacks, and brake bleeding kits. Every article is written from real driveway and garage use, with the goal of helping you do the job right the first time and keep more of your money out of the repair shop.

Garage Safety

Never get under a vehicle that is held up only by a jack. A floor jack is for lifting; always set rated jack stands on solid, level concrete at the manufacturer's lift points before any part of your body goes underneath, and chock the wheels that stay on the ground.

Brake work is safety-critical. Brake fluid damages paint and irritates skin and eyes, so wear gloves and eye protection, keep the reservoir from running dry while bleeding, and test the pedal for a firm feel at low speed before driving normally. If you are unsure your brakes are right, have a qualified technician check them.

Torque values come from your vehicle's service information, not from an article. Under- or over-tightened lug nuts and caliper bolts can fail. Let exhaust parts cool before touching them, disconnect the battery before electrical work, run engines only with the garage door open, and dispose of used fluids at a proper recycling site. A code scanner reports what the car's computer sees; it does not replace a diagnosis by a professional when a repair is beyond your skill.
